Selection Timeline

Thank you for your interest in the 2017-18 Resident Advisor selection process. As of December 16, 2016 the application process has closed and we are not accepting any additional applications at this time.

Please check back in October 2017 for information about the 2018-19 Resident Advisor selection process.

In order for your application to be complete, you will need to do the following. Please make sure your files are submitted in the format listed below or your application will not be considered for employment!
  • Complete the online application form
  • Answer the four short answer questions (see below)
  • Create and upload a cover letter (PDFs or MS Word files only)
  • Create and upload a resume (PDFs or MS Word files only)
  • As noted above, within the application, you'll be asked to respond to four short answer questions. You may find it helpful to draft those responses before you begin work on your application, so you'll only need to copy/paste/reformat those online.

Please draft a thoughtful response to each of these four short answer questions:

  1. Please describe why you want to become a Resident Advisor? (250 words or less)
  2. What does community mean to you and provide an example of a time that you helped to develop and strengthen a community? (300-500 words)
  3. Describe a time that you mediated a conflict between two people, what was the nature of the conflict, what did you learn and what would you do differently in the future? (300 words or less)
  4. If selected to be an RA, what legacy to you want to leave at UNC Charlotte? How would your experience as a Resident Advisor have helped you reach that goal or “stake your claim?” (300 words or less)
