On behalf of the Office of Housing and Residence Life at UNC Charlotte, I would like to welcome you to your home away from home. Your first days on campus will be filled with pride, excitement and uncertainty. Fortunately, you have made the wise decision to reside on campus. Campus research indicates that students who live on campus achieve higher grades, are more engaged with university activities, and graduate at a higher rate than students who reside off campus. One of the major factors for the success of on-campus students is their opportunity to live in residential communities with future friends and peers.
The Office of Housing and Residence Life staff is committed to your development, providing excellent customer service, and providing each resident with the necessary tools to be successful in an ever changing and diverse society. As we embark on a new year, I challenge you to play an active role in your community through participation in campus and housing programs and activities.
Living in campus housing, you will find that we provide facilities, programs, and services that will assist you in achieving your academic goals. I encourage you to get involved in your community, participate in the various residential programs and become involved in your residential council to make a difference in your living community. We offer over 200 student leader positions within Housing and Residence Life, so there is something for everyone.
Once again, welcome and congratulations on your decision to be a part of a special family and reside in a caring, living learning community. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you throughout the year. If you have any questions, the entire Housing and Residence Life staff is eager to respond to your needs. Please let us know what we can do to assist you!
