The Department of Housing and Residence Life is comprised of a vibrant and energetic team of professionals committed to creating communities that enhance the academic, personal and social development of residential students and to providing students with a variety of services and comfortable living environments that are clean, safe and affordable. Approximately 5,100 students live in sixteen residence halls, a Greek Village, and two apartment areas. Recently, the department has embarked on a 450-million dollar master plan that will add approximately 3000 bed spaces and renovate over 2700 of the current bed spaces. This plan is currently underway and is scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2018.

Position Description
The Assistant Director for Staff and Student Programs is an integral member of the senior-level leadership team that creates vision and policy for a department serving approximately 5,100 residential students. The Assistant Director provides leadership and development for the staff and students in assigned buildings/areas. Additionally, the Assistant Director will provide departmental leadership for recruitment, selection, training, and on-going staff development for Resident Assistants and other student staff. The Assistant Director also teaches courses such as our RA Leadership Class and Freshmen Seminar. The Assistant Director is a member of the department’s senior management team and is responsible for providing departmental leadership in crisis situations. The Assistant Director reports to the Senior Associate Director of Housing and Residence Life.

Qualifications /Remuneration
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree (preferably in higher education, student personnel, or a related field); At least 4 years of post-masters, full-time experience in housing, student affairs, or a related field is required. Additional experience supervising professional staff and coordinating programs on a departmental and/or campus level will be viewed positively. Remuneration includes a competitive salary plus, professional development assistance, and complete state benefits package (health care, retirement, etc.).
