Welcome to the H1N1 information area of our website. This area will be updated periodically by our staff with the latest information, instructions, and communications that you need to be aware of as a resident in our facilities. In addition to this website, please remember to check your UNC Charlotte student e-mail account for urgent updates and information. If you have questions or concerns please contact your area's Residence Coordinator, Graduate Assistant or our Main Office. The H1N1 flu continues circulating worldwide. On Aug. 21, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new guidelines about the best ways to prevent spreading the H1N1 flu in higher education institutions. The H1N1 flu has proven to be relatively mild and responsive to anti-viral drugs. The CDC recommends that everyone take the following actions to stay healthy:
The Department of Risk Management, Safety and Security and the Student Health Center are leading the University’s response to the H1N1 flu, in collaboration with the UNC General Administration, the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services and the Mecklenburg County Department of Public Health. Information about the H1N1 flu will be provided via the University Web page as conditions warrant.
