Move-In arrival times have now been assigned. ​To find out your assigned Move-In date and time follow the folllowing steps:

  1. Log into your Housing Account to see your Housing Assignment
  2. Once you have that information, visit the Move-In Arrival Times page on our Move-In website. Every resident has been assigned a Move-In arrival date and time based on their room assignment.
  3. Click on your assigned Residence Hall on the list, then scroll through until you find your specific room assignment.

Assigned arrival times are required for students in all buildings. All students will have an assigned arrival time on one of the two check in days, Friday, August 19 or Saturday, August 20. Assigned arrival times will be scheduled in one hour blocks of time by Housing and Residence Life in order to manage traffic flow on campus and in the buildings. It is very important that you do all you can to adhere to the arrival time given. Residents who cannot make their arrival time will be asked to come to late check-in on Sunday, August 21. Summer Housing will be available in Belk Hall and Greek Village for summer 2016. Students will check in at Belk Hall and Greek Village. There are two housing terms available:

Summer I

  • Check-in: May 22 (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Check-out: June 30 (12:00 PM)

Summer II

  • Check-in: July 3 (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
  • Check-out: August 11 (12:00 PM)

UNC Charlotte offers safe, affordable housing on a traditional university campus for college students with internships in the Charlotte area. Intern Housing is for students enrolled at a college or university and working full-time in an internship or job in the Charlotte area.

(Effective February 22, 2016)

Hoverboards are motorized personal transport vehicles typically used for recreational purposes. They are marketed under a variety of different names including balance boards, gravity boards or self-balancing devices and are powered by lithium batteries. 

Due to the documented fire risks associated with hoverboards, UNC Charlotte has issued a ban on the possession, storage, operation and charging of these and similar self-balancing, battery-powered devices in residence halls.

Charging of hoverboards in residence halls is prohibited immediately.  Students in residence halls will be required to take their hoverboards back to their home of record, or otherwise remove them from their residence hall rooms by Spring Break.  After March 14, 2016, any hoverboard located in a student’s residence hall room will be removed and shipped to the student’s home record at his or her expense. Any infraction may be a violation of the Code of Student Responsibility.

The safety of all students is a campus priority.  It has been demonstrated that batteries in hoverboards and similar devices are prone to explosion or combustion both while charging and during operation; thus, creating a potential fire hazard. To minimize the risks associated with the overcharging and operation of hoverboards, the University is restricting these devices from residence halls.
