Summer Intern Housing

UNC Charlotte offers safe, affordable housing on a traditional university campus for college students with internships or co-ops in the Charlotte area. UNC Charlotte is located in northeast Charlotte, conveniently located off North Tryon, I-85 and I-485. Our campus is less than 10 miles and approximately 20-30 minutes from Center City (Uptown) by car, and is directly connected to Center City by the Lynx Light rail Blue Line Extension


Building Details

Summer 2019 Intern Housing will be located in the Phase V Complex (ElmOak or Pine Halls). Interns will be housed in single-gender apartments with 3-4 interns per unit. 

  • Pine Hall is air-conditioned and includes four 1-person bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, a kitchen and a living/dining area. The kitchen has a full sized refrigerator, oven/stove, and microwave. The living/dining room has a sofa, TV stand and small kitchen table with 4 chairs and in-unit washer/dryer. Each bedroom has an adjustable height, 80 inch twin-sized bed, wardrobe, desk, desk chair and a 3-drawer dresser. Guests staying in Pine Hall will only be allowed to stay until Saturday August 3. A single bedroom in Pine Hall is $29.00 per night
  • Elm Hall is air-conditioned and includes four 1-person bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, a kitchen and a living/dining area. The kitchen has a full sized refrigerator, oven/stove, and microwave. The living/dining room has a sofa, TV stand and small kitchen table with 4 chairs and in-unit washer/dryer. Each bedroom has an adjustable height, 80 inch twin-sized bed, wardrobe, desk, desk chair and a 3-drawer dresser. Guests staying in Elm Hall will only be allowed to stay until Saturday August 3. A single bedroom in Elm Hall is $29.00 per night.
  • Oak Hall is air-conditioned and includes 2 bedrooms, with one person in each bedroom. Each bedroom comes with two adjustable height, 80-inch, twin-sized beds, two wardrobes, two desks, two desk chairs, and two 3-drawer dressers. Each living room comes with a sofa, TV stand and one bathroom. A single bedroom in Oak Hall is $27.00 per night. 

Intern Housing Details

  • To reserve a space in Intern Housing, applicants must submit the online application and pay the $250 non-refundable deposit. The deposit will be credited to the intern’s account upon arrival to campus.
  • The rate for Intern Housing is $29.00 per contracted night for a space in a Pine or Elm Hall apartment. The rate for housing in an Oak Hall suite is $27.00 per contracted night. (Students interning on UNC Charlotte’s campus or UNC Charlotte departments paying for their interns’ housing, please contact Jennifer Hamblin directly for special rates).
  • Intern Housing is available between Sunday, May 19 and Saturday, August 3, 2019.
  • Interns will receive an invoice prior to check-in as well as updates throughout their stay. All payment must be received by no later than July 1, 2019. Failure to pay could result in removal from Intern Housing, as well as notification to your internship location and/or host institution.
  • Contract for Residential Services

Applications for intern housing will not be accepted after May 1.
