Residence Coordinators
Residence Coordinators (RCs) are full-time professionals who live in a residential community and are responsible for the educational and operational functions of the living area. They manage residential areas and supervise the Graduate Assistants (GAs) and Resident Advisors/Managers (RA/RMs). RCs have college degrees and significant experience working with college students. Much of an RC's time is spent serving as an active resource for students and staff who reside in their hall/area.

Support Staff, Housekeeping, and Maintenance Opportunities
Critical to our operations, our support staff members in the Central Office, Technology Services, Residence Life, Financial Services, and Facilities services, as well as our maintenance and housekeeping team members, help to keep Housing and Residence Life delivering the highest possible service levels to our residents and guests.

Security Guards
Security Guards work at reception desks from 11:15 PM to 6:45 AM on most evenings. Security Guards monitor main building entrances, make building tours, and enforce policies and procedures. In addition, they provide services such as issuing loan keys, responding to emergency situations, and checking out equipment.

Resident Advisor
Resident Advisors (RAs) are part-time paraprofessional staff members of the Department of Housing and Residence Life who live in an assigned residential area. RAs work closely with and are supervised by Graduate Assistants and Residence Coordinators who also live and work in the residence halls. RAs serve as valuable campus resources and have many different responsibilities including community building, programming, and policy enforcement. RAs spend significant time getting to know and building relationships with and among their residents. Most importantly, they work hard to foster communities in their halls which are welcoming and conducive to living and learning. RAs are selected for their leadership potential, interpersonal abilities, positive, caring attitudes, and sense of commitment.

Graduate Assistants
Graduate Assistants (GAs) support the Residence Coordinators in managing and supervising many of our residential areas. In apprenticeship positions, these graduate students gain experience in all facets of housing and residence life while pursuing advanced degrees.

Desk Receptionist
The main responsibilities of the Desk Receptionist is to assist in the day-to-day activities of the Residence Halls. Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
All Desk Receptionists must be enrolled as a student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher while employed, and be in good judicial standing at the University. Preferred applicants will have previous customer service experience, or equivalent experience and an on-campus residence at date of application submission.

Housing Ambassador
Housing Ambassadors will assist with Explore Open Houses, Admitted Students Days and give weekly tours to prospective students.

Summer Resident Advisor and Conference Assistant
Our Summer Resident Advisors perform many of the same functions as our academic year Resident Advisors by providing assistance, information, and support to residential students.
Our Conference Assistants work in our buildings to provide service and support to our summer conference guests. These include sport camp and academic camp participants, SOAR participants and their parents, and a variety of other University guests.

Summer Maintenance or Housekeeping Assistant
Summer Maintenance Assistants and Summer Housekeeping Assistants work through the summer under the direction of the Housing and Residence Life permanent staff to assist in all phases of the work of the permanent staff.
